Happy (belated) New Year!!!

Weeeelllll, Junior year has so far gone pretty smoothly with the occasional overwhelming floods of homework, but it's doable....and that's all I want to talk about school (I spend too much time with matters concerning it as is).......

So...in exciting news: the new iPhone looks pretty shw33t!!! Actually, a very lucky folk from my school, Nik (podcast: http://www.podcast.geekandthefreak.com/), was there for the key note on assignment for another very awesome website: http://gearfuse.com/ . Seriously, what an awesome way to get out of school for a day!

Pop culture (or at least my pop culture):
Movies
Triplets of Belleville: A semi-silent, French (in language but from Canada) film in which 3 of the protagonists are jazz singers (The Triplets of Belleville). It's rather strange and creative, some of the most unique features being that a refrigerator grate, vacuum, newspaper, and bicycle wheel are the choice instruments during the film. Ya, you kinda have to see it.
The Ladykillers: Murder, dazzling conversation, Edgar Allen Poe, gospel music, and Tom Hanks. Repetitive but awesome soundtrack. Another absurd and odd film.

Books
Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut: Aliens, World War 2 and being "unstuck" in time.
Po-tee-wee.

The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins: An excellent book on natural selection and all things evolution.

...................

As far as other things in life, February is looking mighty busy, especially since I get to miss school for 2 weeks (good and bad thing: less sitting vs. homework accumulation and missing lectures). One week, I'll be at the High School Youth Forum on rangeland management in Reno, NV and another, I'll be on the East Coast looking at colleges! (*inner fan girl* I get to visit MIT!!!! WEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! *music: I'm soooo excited, and I just can't hide it*....yup). I'll try and keep you posted. You know how my blog updating reliability is. :)

OkaDok, so there's another post to log in the books.
