I've been reading the Fountainhead for upcoming AP Eng. Composition and it's probably one of the best books I've ever read. Ayn Rand's words are so sharp and fitting; there's nothing extra or fluffy surrounding or weaving through her sentence. Her characters (one of these being the protagonist, Howard Roark) have very pronounced personalities and portray several ideal and examples of her philosophy, objectivism, but are still believable and in fact very easy to relate to. It's definitely what would be considered an "intellectual" book, yet it lacks the dry, preaching quality that often plague such "intellectual" reading. She uses intriguing characters that pull at the readers curiosity to wield a classic and innovative look at a genuine battle of good and evil.
Yup. Good read so far.
