<<- (look it's a tree!)

A very Merry Christmas to ya'll out there! I think it's just about one of the most amusing holidays out there since every family has there own traditions with decorations, food, family chaos, and such. As far as my family goes, Christmas was really a big deal when I was little (Although, I was always suspicious of this "Santa Claus" figure. I would leave a letter for him with his cookies and milk that would require his signature at the bottom, agreeing to various statements that he was indeed the Santa Claus.[Similar letters were written for the Easter bunny and the Tooth Fairy.]), but now Christmas is kinda like a normal day of staying at home and working of projects (My dad's on the porch working on the dune-buggy, my mom is getting over a cold and doing some well-deserved resting, and I'll be playing my bass after I post this.) just with presents! And I like it that way. Sometimes we do get a bit creative if we decide to have a "tree", (One year my little 8 foot Sabot was decorated with tinsel, another year I got "Christmas Tires" for my car which were festively stacked on top of each other, and I believe last year we had a package that we made the outline of a tree on with green painting tape.) but mainly we keep Christmas on the down low.

BUT one thing that is definitely a tradition worth mentioning is one at my friend Aimee's house. Her mom collects Barbies and other various dolls and they happen to have the most amazing collection of these plush toy elves with long stringy arms and legs and plastic faces that make them look like they are all on Prozac! Aimee's family has about 30-40 of these things and all the dolls sit on the mantel and smile at you. It's kinda hard to get the sheer hilarity of these dolls across without a picture of them all, but hopefully, you get the gist of it.

In other news, I heard back from MIT and Caltech (about 10 days ago - once again I am notorious for my lateness in news, but I was going to wait until I got a picture of me sitting in between my big Caltech envelope and the MIT "Tube"), and I guess they both liked me. SO, now I have probably the most awesome decision in front of me ever: MIT or Caltech? Boston or Pasedena? 4000 undergrads or 800? The Media Lab or the Jet Propulsion Laboratory? Maroon or Orange? As of right now, I have no clue which one I will end up at. I'll be paying a visit to Caltech sometime next semester and I'll be at MIT's campus preview week in April. Overall, I'm SOOO EXCITED! (*music starts* and I just can't hide it *dun dun dun dun dun dun!* I'm about to lose control and...*the imaginary record comes to a screeching halt as Tess realizes she should probably stop dancing and finish the post*)

Well... :) I gotta run. Apparently, Dad wants to make a dune buggy run on the street before I get to bassing. Ciao! and again, Merry Christmas! (*music starts up again* and a happy new year! Now bring us some figgy pudding...now bring us some figgy pudding...*fades out as engine roars*)

I'm pretty sure you knew well ahead, since you were 10 maybe :)
