I just got out of school a little while ago and am siting at the brand new marble window counter at the local coffee shop (which fortunately has wifi!). Within the past fourty-five minutes off my school-ular freedom, I've managed to give a ride to a guy around my age who had taken the bus from Vista to get to his girlfriend's house a couple miles away from the bus stop, witness a man feeding his three greyhounds ice cream (which I believe he does indeed do every Friday), eat a Caesar Salad, check my e-mail and start on a glorious mini cherry pie...oh and write a blog post. But besides all that the day has been slow. It's awfully kind of Friday to slow down for me, especially since from Monday to Thursday I feel like I've been sprinting, jumping, bassing, and driving about nonstop. This week's busyness had been fun, but I've got to slow it down at some point.
And cherry pie, definitely does the trick.
Continuing with my semester-ly tradition, here's what my week schedule looks like:
Mon - Jazz Ensemble (4-7 pm)
Tues - HS Jazz Band (3-5 pm); Bass Lessons (every other week 5:30-6:30 pm); Symphony (7-10 pm)
Wed - Land Surveying (1-4:30ish pm); Ballroom Dance (5:45-7:30ish); Miscellaneous Awesomeness or Jazz Combo Practice (7:30ish-9:30ish pm)
Thurs - Land Surveying (1:30-4:30ish pm); Academic Team Meet (sometime after that)
Fri - Relaxing (noon - on)
Chaos in a hand-basket? Probably not. I finally started carrying my copy of Lisa Randall's "Warped Passages" to school, actually getting a chance to get some reading done. Is it wrong for school to be your awkward sense of free-time? No. Do I like answering my own questions? Yes.
About 5 more bites of cherry pie to go, then I'm back to reading.
Have a kick-gluteus weekend everyone!

Brushing bunnies
If you're a fan of blondegeek on facebook, you've already been made well aware of this but because I am just so darn happy about this I'm going to say it again: my first facebook app is up and running! Unfortunately, I can not list it in the app directory until at least 5 people are using it but that shouldn't be a problem for too long...right guys?
But besides scripting up a storm this afternoon, I was also giving some needed love and attention to my bunnies (well my bunny, Phi, and my mom's bunny, Boots), brushing them and petting them and all that good cuddling you can do with bunnies because they are just soooo darn cute! To share that cuteness with you, here are some pics of my wascally wabbits.

You might have guessed that Phi (named of course because she is golden like the Golden Ratio that the Greeks loved so much) likes being around, under, and surrounded by towels, clearly being a bunny that has taken Douglas Adams's advice of "knowing where your towel is" to heart. Boots (that would be the strapping boy Dutch rabbit with patches) is a bit more rambunctious and acts like a dog most of the time usually wanting to lick your hand if you pet him.
I'm going to go back to reading Lisa Randall's book Warped Passages so good night and don't forget to add that shnazy blondegeek facebook app that I mentioned!

Success!
Alas! I figured out what was going hay-wire with my Facebook application code! Now, I can finish up all the program functionality and start on the aesthetics, which will be quite a task in itself.
You know how the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" peeps have their "You might be a Redneck jokes"? Well, today in school my mind wasn't really focused on school stuff but instead business: t-shirt designs, php scripts, facebook apps, office supplies, so I've come up with some statements portraying the small business owner state of mind:
You might be a small (t-shirt) business owner if...
...when someone asks how your weekend went your response usually depends on whether you sold any t-shirts or not.
...you often survey the people around you about which color you should make your next product.
...the majority of the stuff in your room is business related.
...your room is your office.
...you give your business card to everyone you meet (even if its Kenneth Starr <- True Story!)
...you can find a way to write off nearly anything as a business expense.
...you were more excited about receiving your new Uline catalog than getting Harry Potter 7 when it came out.
:)
To substantiate the above statements, I am in fact not only watching some news summaries about the Michigan Primary, but working on the layout for my facebook and myspace pages. Multitasking is amazing!

Tidying up
Last week I spent some time filling in the little gaps and missing pieces that needed to be attended to around the site (EXCEPT THE INDEX PAGE - which I am convinced with ever be the bane of my existence *Mrs. Critchley pats me on the back for using a vocabulary word*). My blog now has a sparkly and shiny RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feed that you can post to your tripped out google homepage, so you are always up to date with what is hip and happening in the blondegeek biz. I posted an ancient photoshoot (circa 2006) from back in the days when I wasn't suppose to show any faces on my site (which at the time was most unfortunately since the pictures are AWESOME - in fact, you need to go check those out right now! Actually, NO! Finish reading this first!). Did you notice the flippin' fantastic little image right next to the url too? It's my brand new favicon with a screaming resolution of 16x16 (yes, that's in pixels folks)! Also, off this website, blondegeek now has a facebook business page and a myspace group. If you login to either of these applications be sure to join since I'm planning some fun contests and t-shirt discounts for their members! Hmm...what else did I do...well, I did pay my sales taxes (And at this time I would like to give a big shout out to the State Board of Equalization! - gotta love those guys!). Ah, yes I do remember one other thing I did. BANNERS! If you have a myspace page (facebook users - I am working on making a banner and t-shirt app for facebook. So far I'm banging my head against a wall with this FBML (facebook markup language), but I will be victorious!) or any other type of page that you can insert HTML into and you think blondegeek is pretty fly, you can not spread the news by posting our banners about the Internet. You'll find the codes for them under projects-> support bg. :)
I also happened to have cleaned the interior of my car. For those of you who know how messy it was, I know you are shocked by this. It was a matter of necessity since tomorrow is the first day of high school jazz band and my upright bass and amp have to fit somewhere!
Ciao! and don't forget to check out blondegeek's new "group" pages!
